When buying Classic Mustangs certain criteria if applied, will usually give rise to stand out exceptional examples and this beautiful Arcadian Blue Coupe is just one of those Pony Muscle Cars.
Built at the San Jose plant in California on 7th March 1967 and then delivered to Pueblo Ford on East 22nd Street Tucson Arizona where it was sold in November of that year.

The car then remained in the Tucson area for its entire life changing hands only once to James Leighton of East Tanqueverde Tucson Arizona before being purchased in incredibly original and dry condition by Gary Irons from the Southern area of Phoenix AZ thus protecting the cars original and perfectly preserved body shell and panels in the dry heat of the Phoenix Valley.

Gary who worked as a quality control manager for a local helicopter parts manufacturer then set about bringing the Classic Mustang up to its present-day condition which is quite outstanding.
The interior is as near perfect as can be found with the addition of a useful Centre Console and a period correct Wood Rim Steering Wheel. Everything is fully functional including the SelectAire System.

Being involved in the highest standards of engineering Gary was fastidious in chasing out any oil leaks and annoying noises from the Mustang’s drive train and on inspection, the 289 V8 sitting in the show quality engine bay is a credit to his efforts.

The Boot and Trunk area is also exceptional in its original paint finish and looks just as it would when this Classic Mustang left Pueblo Fords showroom almost 52 years ago. Gary added the new Dual Exhausts along with Four Barrel Carburettor, Chrome Valve Covers and Air Filter all from Edelbrock’s stable.

Whilst the body has been refinished to a very high standard and is still in the Muscle Cars original colour absolutely no issues will be found with the finish or fit and all of the brightwork has been replaced during the recent refurbishment

Since reaching our works in the U.K. Pilgrim Motorsports have upgraded the Front Brakes to Power Assisted Discs which allow for a much more modern effect than the original drums.
A large file of invoices and records accompany the car. In this file is the original build sheet from the Factory and Fords original Sales invoice showing all the original options are chosen and a huge price tag of $3522.60 the air con costing $ 356.09! expensive at the time but living in the Arizona heat much needed. Also, a diary from 1979-1999 shows all the servicing and parts it had added/needed throughout those years.

For the buyer looking to acquire an outstandingly solid Classic Mustang with sensible upgrades with show winning potential, this outstanding example must be very close to the ultimate purchase.
