Steve McQueen made the Mustang the car to have in the late sixties, and his green Mustang was the one! Ford Motor Co is releasing a new Bullitt Mustang this year in the same Green colour as the original one in 1968.

Hence this Green Metallic 1967 Mustang will invoke many memories for all. Powered by the tremendous 351 Windsor engine and a 5 speed T5 Manual gearbox this car is to be reckoned with.

We purchased the car from Jason Wilson who lives in Chandler Arizona which is very close to our office in Scottsdale. Unfortunately, we were in Northern California at the time on a “wild goose chase”, as another miss-described Mustang had to be left where it stood. Jason said he would wait for our return, 15 hours later we arrived. We were delighted with what we had found.

Jason had owned the Mustang twice firstly he had purchased the car from the original owner’s family in Las Vegas several years earlier. He and his father had wanted to find a corrosion free Mustang to do a restoration project together, so they went about restoring it to original specifications. After a few years, they decided to sell the car and a Mustang guy turned up from Texas and purchased it from them in 2013. Jason said if you ever want to sell it let me know! Three years later he got the call and went straight down and bought it back. He then set about making what the car is today and what a great job he did. His idea was to build his dream car.

This is what he achieved!!! The 351 cu in rebuilt Windsor engine is from a 1969 period Mustang and was upgraded using an Edelbrock Performer Aluminium Intake and Four Barrel 650 CFM Carb. The motor breathes through Headman Headers and Flow- master Dual Exhausts and 40 Series Mufflers which give a low Growl and smooth response with plenty of power put down through the new 5 Speed Transmission which is so slick shifting. Ford Racing Valve Covers and March Billet Aluminium Pulleys set off the engine superbly.

In addition, aluminium Bonnet Hinges, Rose Jointed Export Brace, Aluminium 3 Row Radiator and Twin Electric Cooling Fans make the engine bay very special on the eye. Upgrades also include a 130-Amp Alternator, Power Disc Brakes and overhauled Power Steering with Shelby Wood Rim Wheel, not forgetting the modern compressor now producing Ice Cold Air Conditioning.

The battery has been moved to the boot and the interior has been entirely retrimmed in Black with new Instrument Binnacle, Dashboard and Dash Pad. Driving comfort and support is vastly improved with the fantastic Pro Car Elite Mustang Black Bucket Seats. The new fuel system also includes Pump, Fuel Tank & Sender Unit. The Pioneer sound system is Bluetooth.

The magnificent coachwork is in Tourmaline Metallic Green which is not only stunning in the sunlight but also looks amazing at night. The Mustang sits on 17” American Racing Chrome 5 spokes with Goodrich low profile tyres. Which certainly enhances the whole package.

We think Jason has done an incredible job and his reason for selling was that he needed to invest the money in his new business venture. He didn’t want to add up what he had spent restoring it to this standard without including his labour! This rest-mod will give someone a classic look but with the easy drive of a modern car. This will not only win shows but you could take this on continental tours in relative comfort, big seats, 5 speed and cold air con!
