Now finding high specification solid Mustangs in great condition is becoming difficult these days but to find a Mustang which is still in the hands of their original owners is almost impossible.
Cars in general kept by their original owners for over fifty years are usually in very ordinary colours and specs, probably because of the very ordered and quiet careful lives led by the type of Folks that will keep and look after a car for that long. But here is a Mustang in one of the most sought-after colours with a great specification which has been cherished by its original owners Norman and Lesta Williams.

Norman is no longer with us, but Lesta remembers the day they went to buy it. She thought it was going to be too small for their family had owned much larger cars of the 50” s, this new small sports car she wasn’t too sure about, but Norman and her three kids convinced her otherwise. Norman had wanted one since the Mustang came on the scene in 1964, and she remembers how excited he was going to the Ford dealership “Tike Decious Ford” in Chico California which was just up the road from their home in Oroville. They also have stayed in the same home for nearly sixty years!

They all fell in love with the car as it sat in the showroom, the Aqua blue colour and the two-tone Aqua seats sold it to Lesta. At the time when new it had a parchment vinyl roof and Deluxe wheel covers. They bought the car on the 4th November 1967 at a cost of $ 3,400 and took delivery shortly after. Both her sons learnt to drive in it and she reminisced the trips and holidays in it with Norman. They went often to Riverside California from the home in Oroville to visit their oldest son, some 500 odd miles one way. She was very proud that it had never let them down, even though her family had suggested buying a more modern car! Norman had looked after it throughout its life once out of the warranty period and he always took great pride in taking it to shows and telling everyone he had owned it from new. Lesta also has written a note telling us some of its history including that it has been garaged all its life and that the mileage of 113,942 is totally genuine from new.

This Mustang has power steering and we have upgraded the brake system to servo-assisted front disc brakes which helps the overall driveability on modern roads. New American racing torque thrust alloys are fitted with new Goodrich tyres also help the handling. If the tyre/wheel package on this car doesn’t appeal, then there are many other colours or styles we are happy to put on instead. New vinyl top in Black we added along with a period style Mustang steering wheel. The exhaust note is powerful, and the car drives superbly.
