Here we have possibly one of the most iconic Mustangs of all time, the Shelby 500GT Fastback.
Caroll Shelby of Le Mans fame was approached in 1965 to make a race going Mustang. With his race expertise not only as a winning Le Mans driver but also team owner, who else better qualified. He built the Shelby 350 GT Mustang Fastback. This was a very raw example of the Mustang stable, powerful, fast and race engineered throughout for performance. In 1967 Ford wanted something more like a Grand Tourer (GT), which could compete with European cars that were on the domestic market. So the big block 500GT was born, it had huge power but it also had the ride and comfort which the previous Shelby 350GT’s did not possess.This was a car that could run at 130mph easily all day and the driver felt completely comfortable in.

Here we have a stunning investment type 1968 Shelby 500GT,in outstanding condition throughout. Under the bonnet is the famous 428 interceptor engine matted to the four speed manual gearbox from new. This rare Shelby 500GT is one of only 1020 cars built, and is one of only 458 painted in Candy apple red.
This Shelby is registered with the Shelby American World Registry as 500GT number 00551.This is a highly sought-after icon of Ford and Shelby’s collaboration during the height of the muscle car era.
This Shelby was built at the Metuchen plant in 1967 and sold to Joe Myers Ford in Houston Texas on the 17th of January 1968. It spent most of its life in Texas in a collection of high – end cars but ended up coming across the pond in 2016. The Shelby has been fully restored with folder full of invoices.

This is a stunning example of one of History’s iconic cars and is an amazing car to drive around town or out on the open road. Many books have been written about these Shelby Mustang Cobras, and we can certainly see why.
