This is one of our very own Pilgrim 356 Speedsters. Therefore, it will come with our own Manufacturer’s warranty. Built-in 2010 and has only had three owners from new. The car has only covered 4038 miles. It was last in the hands of one of our top clients and was part of his amazing collection and it has been kept in his heated garage whilst in his ownership. The only reason for sale is another car purchase and more room is needed.
This speedster is painted in Metallic black which contrasts superbly with the cream leather interior. The interior is in stunning beige leather piped in black and please note the parcel shelf has also made in the same leather. The speedster comes with a retractable mohair convertible top which is easy to attach in black. This can be left on the car or popped off completely. Fitted with all the period-correct gauges and beautiful steering wheel. This speedster also has the rare electric window option which with the heater on always makes the ride a little more comfortable.
Mechanically the speedster has front disc brake conversion and fully adjustable suspension. The engine is a rebuilt 1641 cc with twin Dellorto carburettors and an electric ignition giving ample power through the gears and reliability. The gearbox/ differential has also been modified to a 3. 8 diff which allows for cruising on the motorway. It also has a EMPI shifter kit fitted. As the first owner enjoyed using it on several continental tours of France and Belgium. VERY IMPORTANT.
This speedster has been through the Government DVSA Test for roadworthiness and safety. Which means that it is registered correctly as a Pilgrim. NOT a VW convertible!! Speedsters which are REGISTERED AS VW CONVERTIBLE are incorrectly registered and are not legal on the roads of the U. K. If you were to have an accident you will not be insured and if you want to sell the car in the future any Replica dealer or Manufacturer will not buy it, as it has not been tested by the DVSA IVA scheme. If it is registered as a historic vehicle this will also not be valid in the above cases. Buyer beware. We have seen a recent spate of incorrect new cars being brought in for work at our factory and these cars are not built to the standards they should have been and will not pass an I. V. A safety test which is their only option in order to have a road-legal vehicle. If in any doubt, please call the DVLA. Or if you wish to discuss please call ourselves and we will be happy to discuss in more detail. We have been building these for over 20 years, so we believe we can give good advice on this subject.
