Jaguar E-type 3.8 Series 1FHC3.8

When the first E-Type was unveiled in 1961 at the Geneva Motor show, a legend was born. As anyone can see the shape and power is quite spectacular. A road car that would go up to speeds of 150mph, wrapped in the most stunning coachwork, would surely sell well. In fact Jaguar Scheduled just 250 total builds, by the end of the Geneva show the order booked topped over 500 orders.

Here we have one of the early E types registered in May 1962.

One of our clients has asked us to help him dispose of his collection of classic cars. This E-Type being one of them. He has owned the car since 1996 and was used regularly until a few years ago. It has stood in his garage for several years and has just been driven out occasionally for an annual Mot.

Bodily, it had been restored some time ago. It currently gives the new custodian an option to completely restore the coachwork or to drive it with its patina. It certainly does look stunning with the wire wheels and the current red coachwork.

Mechanically it starts and stops, the engine and gearbox work well, however we would suggest a full mechanical assessment before driving it home. We have several ramps in our workshop, and we would be happy to show any client or their representative the underside. It recently went through an MOT and passed.

There is a folder with some history on work carried out over the years. The number plate 160 FPO  also comes with the vehicle.

Engine and chassis numbers match. It is also an original Right hand drive car. All payments will be made direct to the owner, who is the registered keeper.

Some of these restored E-Types are making £150,000 and over, which must bode well for this example we have here today.
