This Classic Mustang is stunning, looking like Black velvet at dusk and the most beautiful Black Cherry Metallic in sunlight. With the contrasting new white Pony interior and the mid-grey five spokes which have a polished rim, it must be one of the best-looking Mustangs out there.

This C code (V8) car started of life being built in Fords San Jose plant California in 1966 it rolled off the assembly line on the 21st February 1966 and was then given to a Ford Main Dealer in Los Angeles for sale. It has remained in California all its life as it had the black plates of California on them when we eventually managed to view the vehicle. An original black registration plate donates that it has never been registered outside of the State of California.

Buying this car proved to be one of the most difficult purchases we have made, entirely due to the seller being very well aware of how good his Classic Mustang was and accordingly dictated specific times when he planned to make the car available to a growing list of interested buyers. It took Adrian our Director five days to eventually get the first appointment to view the Mustang, which had been a tad frustrating as he had to stay locally to eventually inspect the Mustang. However, at his meeting, Patrick explained how cautious he was and that he had not taken our interest seriously because of our “Australian” accents! Charming! Immediately Adrian saw the car he knew it had been worth the wait.

Patrick Stefani the last owner lives in the Simi Valley area which is situated approximately 85 miles North West of Los Angeles he had purchased the Mustang from an older gentleman Walter “Butch” Pereira who lived the other side of L.A. close to the mountains. Patrick recalled that Butch had restored the car over a considerable time, powder coating the solid chassis, rebuilding the original engine etc. The Mustang comes with a large file with some bills going back to the early nineties.

After purchasing Black Cherry, Patrick had made some additions to the drivability including a complete brake overhaul with front and rear disc brakes installed. An upgraded cam, MSD Electronic Ignition, Magna flow exhaust and a new interior.

White pony interior with the embossed Mustangs on the seats looks superb, new carpets, dashboard, headliner, and centre armrest adds to the comfort of driving this Mustang. Under the bonnet, you will find Chrome Ford racing rocker covers and air filter, chrome shock tower and Monte Carlo braces. Other ancillaries have been chrome plated which do add a great deal to the overall look.

So finally, five days after we got into town, we concluded the purchase of a gorgeous Mustang Muscle Car with lots of upgrades and an extensive history file.

We parted company with Patrick as friends he had slowly relaxed as he realised, we were serious buyers and drove the Classic Mustang the 80 miles to our shippers in Long Beach. The drive was superb with the power steering, power upgraded brakes and the unmistakable rumble of the V8 through the exhaust, does it get any better !
